Welcome to Visibox!
Visibox is a video and audio playback system for live performance. It is the “instrument” you use to trigger visuals while you perform!
Use Visibox’s drag-and-drop interface to create a song list and assemble the video clips, images, audio clips, live camera feeds, HDMI video inputs, or generative visualizers to accompany each Song. While you perform, trigger your Clips with a MIDI device such as a drum pad, piano-style keyboard, or foot pedals, or use your computer’s keyboard, mouse, Stream Deck, or the API.
What’s new in 6.0
- Poly Mode. A Song can play several Clips at once. Triggering a Clip no longer stops the others, and six modes decide how the Clips share the frame: Blend, Mosaic, Stack, Horizontal Stripes, Vertical Stripes, and Spots.
- Launch Modes. Each Clip decides what pressing and releasing its trigger does. Trigger starts it and lets go, Toggle switches it on and off, and Gate holds it up only while you hold the control down.
- Setlists. Save more than one running order in a Project and switch between them, without dragging Songs around before every show.
- Overlays. Logos and lower thirds above everything the Output shows, placed on a nine-point grid with their own size, margin, and opacity. Assign one to a Project, a Song, or a single Clip.
- Video walls. Spread the Output across a grid of displays, each with its own scale, rotation, and flip. Lay the rig out visually in Settings and watch the screens follow as you drag.
- NDI, DeckLink, Syphon, and Spout. Send the Output over the network to an NDI receiver, out over SDI from a Blackmagic DeckLink card, or straight into OBS, Resolume, or TouchDesigner over Syphon or Spout.
- Recording. Capture the Output to a video file. Start it now, or arm it and let the next Clip you fire begin the take.
- Real-Time Control. Eight named Controls, each pointed at a Clip or Effect parameter and driven live from a knob, a fader, or an on-screen slider.
- OSC. OSC control over playback, navigation, and volume, with feedback you can subscribe to. Visibox announces itself on the network, so TouchOSC and Companion find it on their own.
- Lighting Consoles. Patch Visibox as a fixture on any desk that sends sACN or Art-Net, and cue Songs, Clips, intensity, volume, and hue from the console.
- Song Timeline. Write a Song’s show as a script: cues that fire Clips, ride the volume, and send MIDI, all on the Song’s own clock.
- Lyrics. Paste in a chord sheet in almost any format and Visibox reads it, renders it, scrolls it, and puts it on a screen the players can see.
- In and out points. Play a section of a video file instead of the whole thing, and loop cleanly inside it.
- ISF Effects. Shader Effects join the CSS ones, and the rebuilt Effects editor lets you tune an Effect on one Clip without changing it everywhere it is used.
- Settings. Rebuilt into nine categories, with the MIDI Map and remote pairing now categories inside it rather than windows of their own.
- Stream Deck. The Elgato plugin is the only way Visibox talks to a Stream Deck now. Built-in Stream Deck Mode is gone.
