Editors

Visibox has two kinds of editor, and they do different jobs.

  • Editor Panels are the popups you get by right-clicking something in the Controller window. They edit one Clip, Song, or Project at a time, and they close when you are done.
  • The Editor Window is a tabbed window holding the Effects, Visualizers, and Overlays editors. It is where you build the presets that the panels then assign.

Reach for a panel to change this Clip. Reach for the Editor Window to change the preset every Clip uses.

Editor Panels​

Right-click anything in the Controller window to open its panel:

The panel opens at your cursor with the options that apply to what you clicked. It works from the keyboard too:

  • Arrow keys move through the rows and open or close their sub-panels.
  • Typing jumps to a matching row.
  • Escape steps back out.

Editing several items at once​

Select several Clips or Songs first, then right-click any one of them. The panel opens on the whole selection.

To build a selection:

  • Hold ⇧ (Shift) and click to select a range.
  • Hold ⌘ and click to add or remove one item.
  • Drag a box across the Clip grid to select everything it touches.

The panel shows the options common to everything you selected. Where a value differs across the selection, it reads Mixed. Change it and every selected item takes the new value.

Subpanels​

Some rows open a subpanel to the side when you hover over them:

  • Sliders for continuous values like volume, speed, and fade times. Click the displayed value to type an exact number.
  • Radio lists for picking one value, such as Fit Mode or Launch Mode.
  • The filter editor for turning several visual filters on and adjusting each one.
  • The color picker for choosing a color from the system picker, a hex value, or a preset swatch.
  • Tweak panels for the parameters a Clip’s Effect or Visualizer preset exposes. See Effects.

Double-click a slider to put it back to its default.

The Editor Window​

Effects, Visualizers, and Overlays each have a full editor, and all three live as tabs in one window. See The Editor Window for how to open it and work with tabs.

Panels and menus​

Most Clip and Song options also appear in the Clip Menu and Song Menu in the menu bar. The panels give you finer control:

  • Continuous sliders instead of preset steps. Set speed to 1.37x, not only 1x or 2x.
  • Typed values. Click any slider value and type an exact number, even past the end of the slider.
  • A full color picker instead of a short list of colors.
  • Visual filter editing. Enable, adjust, and combine filters with their own sliders.

The menus are quicker for a single known change. The panels are better for dialing something in.
